Guided exposure therapy you stay in control of.
CalmPath VR pairs a Meta Quest 3S headset with a therapist dashboard on your computer. You choose what your patient sees, guide them moment to moment, and — with optional sensors — watch their body's stress response in real time.
A calm, clinical exposure platform — built for the therapy room
CalmPath VR is designed as a clinical tool, not a flashy game. Everything is built around three priorities: clarity for you, safety and agency for the patient, and privacy by design.
You drive from the dashboard
A browser dashboard on your PC or tablet controls the whole session. Pick content, adjust intensity, send calming messages, and stop instantly — the patient never has to touch a menu.
Graduated, repeatable exposure
Content is organized in graded intensity levels so you can move a patient up or down the ladder at their pace, and return to the exact same scenario next session.
Privacy by design
No patient identity or personal health information is stored. Sensor logs are timestamped values only — no names attached. Built with HIPAA-consciousness from the ground up.
Two halves, one calm session
The therapist's dashboard and the patient's headset talk to each other over your local Wi‑Fi. You see the controls; the patient sees only the experience.
Therapist Dashboard
- Begin, pause, and stop the session
- Choose the video, tour, or AI scene
- Send reassuring on-screen messages
- Watch live heart rate & stress (optional)
- Emergency Stop always one click away
Meta Quest 3S Headset
- Immersive 360° / 180° environments
- Branching photo & video "tours"
- Guided breathing & bilateral stimulation
- Calming relaxation center between exposures
- No menus to navigate — you guide it all
Everything you need in one calm control panel
Each of these is built and working in the current dashboard.
Session control
Begin, pause, resume, and stop. Controls stay locked until you press Begin Session, so nothing fires by accident. A session timer runs throughout.
360° content library
A four-level menu — Condition ▸ Category ▸ Scenario ▸ Intensity — lets you find and play the exact graded scenario you want in seconds.
Live biofeedback
With an optional sensor, watch live heart rate and skin conductance, set a per-patient calm baseline, and see a green / yellow / red anxiety indicator.
Messages to the patient
Type a note or tap a quick phrase ("You are safe. This feeling will pass.") and it appears gently in the patient's view — no need to raise your voice across the room.
Bilateral stimulation
A moving target for EMDR-style bilateral stimulation, with adjustable speed, range, and direction — horizontal, vertical, or diagonal.
Guided breathing
Box breathing, 4-7-8, resonance, extended-exhale and more — a visual breathing guide the patient follows in the headset to settle between exposures.
AI scene generator
Describe a calming place ("quiet beach with gentle waves") and generate a custom 180° scene on the spot. Save favorites to a per-condition library.
Relaxation center
A dedicated calm space with calming videos, ambient soundscapes, breathing, and guided progressive muscle relaxation, hypnotherapy, and imagery sessions.
Emergency Stop
A large, always-active button returns the patient to a neutral waiting screen instantly — available even before a session begins.
One always-on control bar, three focused workspaces
The left sidebar is always available — no matter what you're doing, your safety controls, biofeedback, messaging, and calming tools are one click away. The main area then switches between three tabs depending on where you are in the session.
Therapy Session
The exposure workspace: the graded video library, the live session timeline, and the branching tour map. Where the clinical work happens.
Relaxation Center
A calm space for before, between, and after exposures — calming videos, ambient soundscapes, breathing, and guided PMR, hypnotherapy, and imagery sessions.
Education
Short psychoeducation videos you can play in the headset to teach the patient what's happening in their body — anxiety, the fight-or-flight response, how exposure works, and grounding skills. The list loads automatically from the headset.
Know what's coming — before your patient feels it
Each exposure video is marked with its emotional "beats." The timeline shows every upcoming stressor and its intensity, with a playhead that moves as the video plays — so you're never caught off guard, and you can prepare the patient a moment before a peak.
Beats are authored per video in a simple editor — a time, a label, and an intensity from 1 to 5 — then drawn automatically here.
Branching "tours" that let the patient choose how far to go
Some exposures aren't a single video — they're a walkable environment made of connected 360° photos and videos. The patient moves by looking at a point and selecting it. This map shows the therapist exactly where they are and what choices lie ahead. Below is the built-and-working Suspension Bridge tour.
Overlook branches climb to the highest intensity (Level 4) and are deliberate dead-ends — the only way back is a gentle step down (video ▸ photo ▸ bridge), mirroring good exposure practice of easing off a peak.
A growing library across eight condition areas
Content is organized so you always know where to find the right scenario. New scenarios, tours, and calming environments are added continuously, and videos can be downloaded to the headset on demand.
Every scenario lives at a clear, repeatable address
◐ 180° & 360° video
Each scenario is delivered as flat 180° or fully immersive 360° video, played under full therapist control. Large videos stream from the headset's own storage.
◈ Walkable 360° tours
The patient moves node to node — choosing which way to go through an environment. Each node carries its own intensity, and some open into video moments (as in the bridge tour above).

The patient is never on their own in there
Exposure only works when the patient feels safe enough to stay with the discomfort. Every design choice protects that.
Instant Emergency Stop — from either side
One press returns the patient to a calm neutral screen at any moment — from your dashboard or from the patient's own controller. No digging through menus.
Calming tools between exposures
Breathing guides, bilateral stimulation, and a full relaxation center let you down-regulate the patient without ending the session.
Watch the body, not just the face
Optional biofeedback shows when a patient is elevated even if they aren't saying so — with a clear "consider pausing" prompt.
No personal health information stored
Sensor readings are anonymous, timestamped values. No names, no identities, no session recordings of the patient.
Documentation that points to the moments that mattered
Your clinical notes stay yours — CalmPath VR never stores patient records. These features help you write them faster.
Session control & active timer Working
Begin, pause, resume, and stop, with an active-time timer, a one-tap calm waiting screen, and live connection status throughout the session.
AI note summary Planned
An auto-generated summary that highlights the segments of the exposure that produced the most significant physiological response — so your notes point straight to the moments that mattered. You copy it into your own records; no PHI is stored.
